Welcome to the final workshop, Suspension Drills & Skills. 

Suspension Drills and Skills is a fast paced theory heavy class that looks deeply at suspension lines, attachment points, gear and risk profiles of those that tie. Participants may be at any level of their suspension or self suspension journey, but should at a minimum have an awareness of their individual risk profiles, knowledge of a suspension worthy single tie and understanding of their skills. 

This class is predominantly focused on rigging and suspension technique and theory, and as such, tickets are booked for a single suspension point. Riggers will be drilling suspension uplines and practicing upline failure problem solving, and as such, models are not required for this class unless they also want to learn upline techniques (which is always recommended).

Participants should bring their rope, preferred cutting/safety implement, rated carabiners/suspension ring, and something heavy to suspend that is also safe to be dropped (bag of books, weight wrapped in a blanket, etc) weighing no less than 10kg. This class will not involve tying to people.

What do I need to bring?
Ropes, safety shears, a water bottle & some snacks if needed. 

What do I wear? 
Anything you feel comfortable in, and that you can easily move around in. 

Himboy/Micah (he/they) is a trans gender fluid human living and teaching on unceded Wurundjeri country in Naarm/Melbourne. He has been in and around the rope community, and an active member of the broader kink scene since 2016. In 2020 Himboy co-founded Melbourne Community Rope, a queer led not-for-profit teaching collective of rope educators where he is currently on committee. In addition, he has previously taught at Peer Rope Melbourne, Mannhaus’ ‘The Establishment’ series, Hitchcraft Sydney, as well as in private consultations and sessions since 2019. Presenting adult education on a range of topics, from rope and movement, to bottom education and other BDSM topics, he focuses on developing accessibility in his teaching, considering intersectionality and trauma informed approaches. A lifelong learner, he frequently attends classes in person and online from a range of teachers, from Tifereth’s visits to Australia, to Karada House’s Queer Rope conferences, to the wonderful historical work of Midori, and many others.
