Event description
Can Reusables Make a Difference? Taking the Next Smart Business Step Toward Sustainability
This interactive workshop is designed for businesses and event organisers looking to improve sustainability and reduce their carbon footprint, by reducing waste, contributing to the circular economy, or cutting back on emissions. You’ll discover how sustainable practices can enhance your business's environmental efforts over time.
Led by Tweed Shire Council's sustainability team, North East Waste Educator, Linda Tohver, and featuring a Q&A session with Cabarita Beach Bowls and Sports Club General Manager, the session will cover practical approaches to common sustainability challenges, helping you identify your business' next steps in reducing impact. The workshop will include facilitated collaboration with like-minded business owners and support you in developing practical next steps that can be integrated into your business.
Discussion topics
A hot topic in sustainability today is the use of reusables in business - replacing disposable single use materials with reusable alternatives. Linda will share her experience working with other Northern Rivers Councils and local businesses on the key hurdles that need to be addressed.
General Manager of Cabarita Beach Sports and Bowls Club, Steve Penfold, will share some of the club's sustainability successes, including installation of EV chargers, solar PV, composting and herb garden and the ingredients needed for success.Â
Walk away with new insights and tools to implement sustainable practices in a way that benefits both your business and the environment.
