Sustainable Business Awards 2021

Event description

The Sustainable Business Awards are New Zealand’s pre-eminent and longest-standing sustainability awards, now in their 19th year. They recognise and celebrate success in sustainability.

The Awards event is the highlight of the sustainable business calendar. This year we’ve transformed it into an engaging, inspiring format that is accessible to everyone, regardless of Covid restrictions. It will be online, free for everyone to watch and low carbon.

The event will comprise a short documentary about sustainability in Aotearora in 2021, produced by digital storytelling agency Borderless. This will celebrate and share stories from key sustainability themes of the year, ranging from climate and Covid to the circular economy and sustainable finance.

It will include interviews with a range of sustainability leaders and business owners, including politicians, innovators, academics and Award finalists. It will capture highlights from an extraordinary year that will surely go down in history for the challenges posed by Covid, as well as climate milestones.

The documentary will be followed by announcements of the Award winners across 10 categories. Te Radar will MC the event from a studio in Auckland, and the finalists will be online waiting to hear the results announced live.

The event will be livestreamed by Stuff, our Broadcast Partner, to help ensure the stories of sustainability success reach as many people as possible.

If you’re watching from home, we’ve compiled a menu of sustainable food and drink options to ensure you’re fed and watered in style!

Although the event is free, we’re encouraging viewers to support nature regeneration in Aotearoa New Zealand by making a donation to one of our Million Metres’ waterway restoration projects.  Donate now.

Join us online for a fantastic show, MC’d by the fabulous Te Radar, and support your favourite finalists!
