1st September: Healthy Food Choices made Easy
Food is central to life. We will consider food choices that are healthy for us and our planet.
8th September: Minimizing Waste: reduce, reuse, recycle
Learn about our Council's resource recovery systems and the ways we can reduce, reuse and recycle to keep items out of landfill.
15th September: Gardening 1: growing your own food
The basics of gardening including working with soil and the elements, including a practical demonstration of how to grow from seed.
6th October: Commute Sustainably
Exploring sustainable travel options - looking at active and low carbon travel.
13th October: Gardening 2: growing your own food- practical
Natural ways to fertilize our gardens and maintain healthy crops, with hands on outdoor activities (weather permitting).
20th October: Household Emergency Planning: natural disasters and hazards
First hand tips and insights about the realities of living through a natural disaster and empowering ways to plan and prepare for resilience.
10th November: Protecting our water
Relating to our water and where it comes from, considering how we can contribute to caring for our water sources through our daily choices.
17th November: Healthier Home, healthier you
Tips, info and advice on ways to keep our homes warm, dry and healthy and save on energy sources.
