Swan Hill Workshop: Supporting Trans People

Affirmation Station visits Swan Hill! 

Transgender Victoria is facilitating an Affirmation for All event in Swan Hill. This is part of a series of gender affirming events happening across two days.

This workshop is for professionals who work with trans and gender diverse people in schools, organisations, and services in Swan Hill and surrounding areas.

Meeting Room 3, level 1

While in-person attendance is preferred, there will also be an option to attend online. A meeting link will be emailed the day before the workshop.

This practical workshop is designed for teachers, school leaders, wellbeing staff, community services staff, and health professionals who want to build their confidence in understanding gender diversity, identity, expression, and how to support trans, gender diverse and non-binary people in a professional capacity.

Participants will gain practical strategies to:

• Create a safe and inclusive school or service environment

• Confidently support trans people using inclusive language and practices

• Navigate common questions and challenges

• Apply practical tools they can use straight away

The session will be tailored to those who register to ensure the session meets identified needs.

About the facilitator:

Britt Hulbert (they/them) is the Programs Manager at Transgender Victoria, They have a background in teaching and have been working with LGBTIQA+ people and their families for over ten years.

Accessibility:

The venue is accessible for people with disability and people with mobility issues. There is a lift to get to the room on level 1.
