Swap in the City drop-in & swap days
Event description
Swap in the City is a community hub offering drop-in & swap days every week and events focused on sustainability, circular economy, ecological economy and social wellbeing. Our mission is to reduce textile waste by making swap culture accessible to all – through hands-on experiences and practical education. We also have events aimed at exploring creative solutions to the environmental, social, and economic challenges we face.
DROP-IN SWAPS
On swap drop-in days, you can drop in anytime between 11 am - 2 pm. We want everyone to have a happy and pleasant swap experience. This is why our swaps are about gifting high quality items to others through the swap pool, and not dumping unwearable or undesirable stuff for someone else to deal with. Think of it like what you would gift to your bestie or a loved one.

WHAT TO BRING
When selecting items to bring to swap, think ‘gifting’ quality items that will go to a good home where they’ll be used and cherished. Please do not attempt to dump overused, poor quality items at our hub. We will not accept it.
Our system is imperfect but we will continue to improve our sorting process.
WHAT WE ACCEPT
Quality items made from natural fabrics, handmade garments, retro & vintage fashion, mid-level brands, luxury brands, sustainable brands, slow fashion clothing and non-fast fashion brands.
WHAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT
Fast fashion brands, underwear, used pyjamas and overused workout gear, odorous, moldy, dirty, damaged, pilling, stained and excessively faded garments.
