Event description

ARE YOU READY TO MAKE A SPLASH?!

Will Paris be a breakthrough moment for the urban swimming movement (& the Planet's waterways)?

Is this a time that city leaders and decision-makers can commit to making peace with Nature?

As the world prepares for the Paris Olympics (Fri, 26 July 2024 – Sun, 11 Aug 2024), cities and their leaders are watching on in awe, for what is set to become a landmark moment – Olympic athletes swimming in the River Seine for the first time in around 100 years. This will create a lasting memory for a whole generation!

Urban waterway quality mirrors the health of a community and its economy, which is why ‘swimmable cities’ are swiftly capturing mainstream attention. Unlike many responses to climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, it’s easy to understand.

Join special guests in the fields of urban design, sport, one health and activism as we explore what the Olympics could mean for the international urban swimming movement and urban ecosystem restoration, as well as hear the latest from 'in the water' in Paris.
