Swing Patrol East Brisbane - Charleston Course (JunJul)

Join us for an immersive four-week course for intermediate level swing dancers, and Swing Back in Time with 4 Weeks of Vintage Charleston!

Get ready to kick, flick, and fly through the decades in our brand new 4-Week Charleston Course! If you are looking to perfect your footwork, this course is the ideal way to dive into the world of Charleston.

Weeks 1–2: The Roaring '20s Charleston.
Step into the Jazz Age with high-energy solo moves, some technical grounding footwork, and classic flapper flair. You’ll master the basics of '20s Charleston and build a strong foundation full of rhythm, confidence, and character.

Weeks 3–4: The Swingin’ '30s Lindy Hop Charleston, including Tandem Charleston.
Transition into the golden era of swing with partner-based '30s Charleston. Learn how this style evolved with Lindy Hop – all the kicks, momentum, and playful connection that made it a dancefloor sensation! We will dive into side by side and Tandem Charleston, ensuring great exercise, some historical nuggets and some pretty great movement.

Be part of the crew.
We rotate partners in class, so you’ll meet new people and improve faster. Intermediate level dancers and beyond are welcome – just bring your enthusiasm and comfortable shoes.

DATES: Mondays 16 June, 23 June, 30 June and 7 July 2025. 

TIME: 7.30 - 8.30pm.

Please note that drop-ins are not available, pre-registration is essential. This is a closed course to ensure a cohesive learning journey for everyone involved. We look forward to dancing with you!

WAITLIST: If your preferred ticket type is sold out Text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311, with your name, the course title, and which tickets you want, and Swing Patrol will text you back if tickets become available, giving you an exclusive Access Code to use for booking within a specific window of time. We try to maintain a fairly even ratio of Leads and Follows, to ensure optimum learning for partner dancing.

REFUND POLICY
If you are unable to commence the course due to illness, cancellation and refund is available if you text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311 prior to 10am on the day the course commences. After this time, no refunds are available.
Full payment is required to register for the course, and no partial refund will be available for participants who miss a session.
