Swing Patrol East Brisbane - Competition & Show Course - Oct 2025

Show off your Lindy Hop!

Lindy Hop is predominantly a social dance, but also offers a Competition and Show element that just might suit you! Competitions can give you a razor sharp focus to push yourself. Show, or performance, gives you the opportunity to showcase the dance you love, while being an exercise in managing your adrenalin and all the emotions of putting yourself out there in front of others. Come and be part of these three sessions and get a sense of what this is all about. Discover what judges look for, how to shine, and feel the joy and focus you experience in this space.

Who's it for?

Ideally you can do a swing out, but this is an introduction to Competition and Show so the tempos will be moderate but the fun extreme.

Notes

We would like to rotate partners, but some partnerships are keen to stay together as they are considering competing. Just let Leigh and Scott know at the start of the course, and we will manage accordingly. Registration is available for individual dancers (Leads or Follows) and for Pairs (1 Lead + 1 Follow).

Part of the course will include entries and exits to jam sessions, as well as some mock competition and show experience.

Please note that drop-ins are not available, pre-registration is essential. This is a closed course to ensure a cohesive learning journey for everyone involved. We look forward to dancing with you!

WAITLIST: If your preferred ticket type is sold out Text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311, with your name, the course title, and which tickets you want, and Swing Patrol will text you back if tickets become available, giving you an exclusive Access Code to use for booking within a specific window of time. We try to maintain a fairly even ratio of Leads and Follows, to ensure optimum learning for partner dancing.

REFUND POLICY
If you are unable to commence the course due to illness, cancellation and refund is available if you text Swing Patrol on 0412 309 311 prior to 10am on the day the course commences. After this time, no refunds are available.
Full payment is required to register for the course, and no partial refund will be available for participants who miss a session.
