Join the 2025 Sydney Alliance Federal Pre-Election assembly to demonstrate the power of civil society and to take action on housing, energy and climate ahead of the Federal election.

The Assembly will include a roll call of organisations, testimonies from our communities and negotiations with politicians attending. We will ask decision makers to commit to our asks for specific, concrete post-election action on housing and renting, affordable and renewable energy, and climate resilience.  

We warmly invite you to join us for an optional meal at the end of the event, sharing in an Iftar (breaking of the fast) with members of the Muslim community observing Ramadan. The meal will be catered by House of Welcome, which supports employment pathways for people seeking asylum and refugees.
 
Politicians attending as at February 2025:
Chris Bowen (ALP)- Minister for Energy and Climate Change 
Senator Jenny McAllister (ALP) - Minister for Cities and Emergency Management
Zali Steggall (Independent) - Member for Warringah
Senator Mehreen Faruqi (Greens) 

Shadow Ministers have been invited to speak on behalf of the Opposition - attendance TBC. 
 
Date: Thursday 13 March 

Venue: Morley Centre at Catherine McAuley and Parramatta Marist High Schools, 2 Darcy Road, Westmead  

Time: 5:40pm - 7:40pm (final times to be confirmed). 
Note: 5:40 – 6pm will include a briefing for participants.  
An alternative video briefing will be sent for those who are unable to make it before 6pm. 

Transport: We encourage participants to come by train to avoid afternoon traffic. The venue is 8 mins walk from Westmead
                Station and less than 40 min from Central by public transport)

There is some limited parking onsite (especially for those with mobility needs) and paid parking at Westmead Hospital.  
Further transport information advice will be sent to attendees. 
 
Wear: Organisational or cultural wear to represent the diversity of the Sydney Alliance 

Bring: umbrella, pen, filled water bottle & snacks, Humanitix QR code for sign in 

Food: If you would like to stay for dinner, you can pre-purchase a delicious dinner pack House of Welcome Catering as part of your registration. TICKETS WITH DINNER CLOSE WEDNESDAY 5 MARCH 10AM.

Please Note: this is not a debate between candidates, nor will questions be taken from the floor. The agenda for this event has been agreed upon by the Alliance partner organisations, and questions will be sent ahead of time to political representatives invited to speak. Individuals and groups coming to disrupt the proceedings will be asked to leave.
