Welcome to the Sydney Central Brach AGM with guest speaker Mr Stephen McCulloch, Regional Property Manager, St Vincent De Paul talking on:

‘Substantial Energy Savings at St Vincent De Paul – a successful and replicable example in the not-for-profit sector’

The St. Vincent de Paul Society has a substantial property holding, occupying in excess of 400 sites throughout NSW alone. Mr McCulloch will initially discuss how they have achieved a 50-60% energy reduction at the Society’s main offices in Lewisham, Sydney.

The talk will look at the main drivers to change, the processes used to examine the buildings problems, and the subsequent modifications made that have contributed to a significant reduction in energy use and saved money.

The large portfolio also provides a wealth of other opportunities for energy savings and carbon reduction. The second part of this talk will consider some of those opportunities, such as Solar PV, and LED lighting, and look at funding and measurement (carbon audits).

This project fits with St Vincent De Paul’s aims for Social Justice and for all members of society to share equally the opportunities and resources available.

St Vincent De Paul’s approach and learnings may help other not-for-profits across Australia enable a better future for people and planet.

Talk will start at 6:30pm and will be followed by Sydney Central AGM at 7:15pm, concluding at 8:15pm.
