✨ New Moon in Virgo ✨

This New Moon in Virgo we see the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new one, giving a fresh burst of energy, initiative, and emotional balance. This is an excellent time for positive change, freedom, excitement and starting new projects.

This New Moon in Virgo ceremony will focus on empowering ourselves by finding balance, clarity, and learning to trust in our own intuition and strength.

Throughout history, the Virgo was depicted as a powerful goddess of fertility, strength, love, harvest and justice. Depicted by ancient Sumerian, Egyptian and Greek goddesses such as Nisaba, Ishtar or Persephone, and Isis.

Why would a goddess of fertility be a virgin?

In ancient Greece, many goddesses are referred to as “virginal", but the term “virgin” did not refer to chastity. In ancient Greek, Biblical Hebrew, and Latin - all definitions actually mean “young, unmarried maiden”. Only after the European Renaissance, do we see Virgo depicted as the chaste, virginal goddess Astraea. The English associated the virgin goddess Astraea with the virgin Queen Elizabeth.

After several millennia of a powerful goddess of fertility, strength, justice and harvest, the Virgo becomes suddenly chaste. 

With the revival of ancient knowledge, Virgos today are not the symbol of purity, chastity, innocence and abstaining from pleasure.

Virgos are Independent, self-resilient, and arguably the most sexual of the Zodiac signs (watch out, Scorpios!)

Virgos are most empowered when their mind is in order. (The stereotype of Virgos as excessively orderly or clean actually refers to their mind.)

In this New Moon ceremony, we will evoke the powerful Virgo goddesses to help us find our inner strength, balance and clarity. Helping us organise our minds and start fresh, beginning new creative projects and learning to trust and take care of ourselves.

✨ How to prepare at home ~ ✨

Set up a sacred space where you won’t be disturbed

Optional to set the space ~ Create your own altar or have any magical/ sacred things with you to add to your experience such as crystals, cleansing tools (like sage), cards, flowers. These will all be charged and infused with our high energy + the magic of the moon

~ A journal/ paper and a pen! 

~ Art supplies ~ Watercolours, coloured pencils, paper

~ Your own beautiful, authentic energy!

~ A warm Cacao, tea or other beverage

~ Please come prepared to share! Feel free to share what is on your heart, something you have written or bring a short poem, quote, or story that speaks to you – this may be relevant to the theme for the month or could be anything that you find inspirational or that highlights the unique strengths of women.
