Women in Film & Television (WIFT NSW) is thrilled to announce the Sydney premiere of "The Lies We Tell Ourselves," the third feature film from acclaimed Finnish-Australian director Saara Lamberg. This captivating mockumentary will screen on Monday, September 16th at 7pm 

Arrive from 6:30pm to purchase a drink or a snack from the Dendy Cinema bar and to engage in foyer mingling.

"The Lies We Tell Ourselves" is a unique and insightful exploration of the challenges faced by independent filmmakers when navigating the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The film follows an eccentric director on the rise as she travels to Cannes, Berlin, New Caledonia, Australia, and England, encountering various entertaining hurdles before realizing her artistic vision.

Saara Lamberg's previous award-winning films, "Innuendo" (2016) and "Westermarck Effect" (2023), have both been screened at the Cannes Cinephiles festival, solidifying her reputation as a talented and innovative filmmaker. This year, Lamberg has already had successful screenings of "The Lies We Tell Ourselves" in France, New York, the UK, Perth, and Melbourne, captivating audiences with her unique storytelling and cinematic flair.
