Pitching to Australian Literary Journals | SRB Editorial Session #1

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, the Burramattagal people of the Darug nation, and pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded, and the struggles for justice are ongoing.

-----

Now in its eleventh year, the Sydney Review of Books is where Australia’s leading writers and critics shape a public discourse about literature. Our purpose is to expand and enrich Australian literary culture through a program that is critical and creative, ambitious and innovative.

Tickets are now available for our first editorial information session for 2024 on pitching to Australian literary journals. In this hour-long session, targeted specifically at new and emerging writers, you’ll hear from SRB editor James Jiang about his experience working across a range of literary journals, the art of pitching, and what editors and writers can expect from each other. There will also be a Q&A at the end of the session.

Come join us for a conversation about literary journals, connect with other writers, and get inspired to start developing your pitches. There are twenty-five spots for this session. We ask that attendees who can no longer make the session to let us know, so we can provide a spot to the next person on the waitlist.
