Sonia is a finance, strategy and risk professional with over 25 years’ experience in board advisory and executive roles encompassing Australia, Asia Pacific, US and European markets. As a highly effective and innovative leader, Sonia drives organisational performance and demanding change agendas through empowered cross-border or centralised teams. In Australia, Sonia has served as a finance executive at Cochlear, Viacom International Media Networks, SBS and Brookfield.
Sonia was appointed an independent member of the Finance, Audit, Risk and Governance Sub-Committee in 2017 and subsequently appointed as Chairperson of the Carers Australia Board in November 2019. Carers Australia is the national peak body representing Australia’s 2.65 million carers, advocating to influence policies and services at a national level.
In 2018. Sonia was awarded the ‘Exceptional Women of Excellence” Award at the Women’s Economic Forum at The Hague.
