Event description
Austen's Powers
At 6pm, join a panel of self-professed Janeites as they gather to observe the occasion and trace the peerless wit, scathing social commentary and iconic love stories that have inspired countless adaptations on pages, stages and screens.
Wild for Austen
After a short break, reconvene at 7.30pm to hear how Devoney Looser puts to rest the myth of Jane Austen as a quiet spinster in her new book, Wild for Austen.
NB: This is a free, virtual event at Parkes Shire Library and Cultural Centre. A minimum of six attendees is required for event to run. There will be a short, 30-minute interval between the two talks where refreshments will be available.
