Event description

Synchronicities I and II present mirror image programs of chamber music across two dusk performances. Each features a duet, a quintet and sonic meditation, inviting the audience into a deep listening, centring experience. A combination of classical and more contemporary music intertwines familiarity and comfort with new experiences.

These performers are some of Melbourne's most prolific and passionate musicians. They are all alumni of the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), with graduation dates spanning the past 8 years.

Co-organiser Molly Collier-O'Boyle is a curator, educator and performer and is currently the acting associate principal viola with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Co-organiser Madeleine Jevons (violin) divides her time between playing in and managing the Penny Quartet, freelancing and collaborating with artists of all sorts.

They are joined by Meg Cohen on violin (historically informed performance specialist and freelancer), Anthony Chataway on viola (Penny Quartet, MSO) and James Morley on cello (Freedman finalist, soloist and freelancer).
