~ Live Performances/Synth Tradeshow/Workshops/Giveaways/Afterparty! ~

EMOM (Electronic Music Open Mic) Sydney/Eora has been bringing people together by showcasing Sydney’s electronic musicians with monthly events at Mothership Studios in Marrickville. This December seemed like the perfect opportunity to have an end of year party that is a culmination of all the different things that we have been doing. Live performances, visual artists, hands on time with synthesizers, giveaways, and workshops/synth demonstrations - community!

Afterparty Lineup

  • Mel Blue

    Mel Blue

Mel Blue are an electronic trio crafting emotionally charged dance music that fuses nostalgic melancholy with forward-thinking energy. Formed in Sydney and now based between Sydney and London, the group of Oscar Sharah, Jacob Siles, and Luke Gerber, have built a reputation for euphoric, introspective tracks that pull from house, breakbeat, UK garage and beyond. Following their acclaimed debut “Sanctuary Point”, the band underwent a radical evolution after moving to London in 2023. Immersed in the city’s iconic club culture and confronted by unexpected personal challenges, Mel Blue emerged with a renewed creative spark and a sound that’s faster, rawer, and fearlessly their own.

  • Jonti

    Jonti

Jonti's lush, dreamy fusion of psychedelic pop and left-field hip-hop has proven to be a natural fit for the revered Los Angeles label Stones Throw Records. His songs typically feature his pillow-soft vocals multi-tracked into a choir, along with rich strings, vintage synthesizers, trippy beats, and mellow acoustic guitars, among many other elegantly layered sounds.

  • Virago

    Virago

Virago is a beat maker and she produces and plays purely on the SP 404 MKII. Using the machine as a means of processing emotion and experience through a more vulnerable art form, Virago really has no control over what's coming out. But if provocative hyper pop was a genre that might sum up the sound!

  • Manfredo Lament

    Manfredo Lament

Manfredo Lament is an improvised music group headed by Kurt Lam on synth and keys, and Gabriel Haslam on drums. Through a consistently rotating lineup, each show features different musicians from across Australia’s music scene. These artists come from the modern-jazz, funk, spiritual and ambient music landscape - including members of underground and emerging Australian projects Godtet, First Beige, Glass Beams, Foshe, Kyoshi & The Regime. An improvised approach means the sound of each show is a unique blend of the musical styles, personalities and influences of each musician. Manfredo Lament’s first EP “Movement, Saga & Fable” features Finn Koslowski of Kosher Groove on Saxophone and Luke Gerber of Melblue on Bass. Manfredo Lament aims to provide a space for free exploration and expression without the constraints of pre-structured music. Manfredo Lament aims to connect the Australian music community through a changing lineup of musicians who have often never played together.

  • Hunter

    Hunter

Hunter (known online as hunter.psy) is an electronic music producer, modular synthesizer live act, and artist based in Sydney, Australia.

  • SCRAPS

    SCRAPS

Based out of Brisbane (BNE) Australia, home-recording artist Laura Hill started working under the name Scraps as the banner for her homespun synth pop. Armed with subdued vocals, lo-fi keyboards, and various electronic takes on dreamy, twee songwriting, Hill compiled a debut album, Classic Shits 2006-2009, gathering together the best of her warm, homemade pop songs recorded up until that point. The album was released in 2011 on the Bedroom Suck label, and was soon followed by a flock of like-minded digital singles, EPs, and a 7" release entitled Secret Paradise in 2012. Scraps performed in various locales throughout the Australian underground, and a proper follow-up to her debut LP came in the form of Electric Ocean, released in early 2014.

greetings, human. i am psymatic 2000. i first became sentient in the year 2000 but unfortunately i was to spend the next 25 years confined on the chipboard of a discontinued neo geo pocket. but fate has smiled on me and i am now free to explore the futuristic wonders of the year 2025. my favourite beats are “bompin” beats. i look forward to exploring the music of the future with you. :)
