Join our presenter Jaclyn Ward in discussing clinical tips when it comes to identifying SNAS, diagnostics and management.
Whilst contact nickel allergy and hypersensitivity is well accepted in the dermatology field and literature, Systemic Nickel Allergy Syndrome (SNAS) stands as a novel yet misunderstood syndrome due to its immunological complexity and multisystem involvement. Unfortunately, this syndrome is largely an unfamiliar and misunderstood condition in both medical and CAM practice and many patients will continue to suffer because of a lack of knowledge and a lack of consideration as a potential differential diagnosis. The current dilemma is that SNAS patients are often diagnosed as being inflicted with idiopathic autoimmune disease, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) or other generalised systemic conditions. Jaclyn will be introducing practitioners to SNAS physiology, symptomology and the implications on various body systems such as gastrointestinal, endocrine, neurological, and respiratory systems. She will also be discussing clinical tips when it comes to identifying SNAS, diagnostics and management.
