Table of Trust: Neutral Language for Food for Families
Description
Are you a parent, caregiver, or family member wondering how you can help young people in your life develop a healthy relationship with food and eating? Did you grow up hearing harmful
messages about food and your body? Do you want practical support to break that cycle for the children in your life?
Led by a registered dietician and a counsellor from the Provincial Eating Disorder and Recovery program, this workshop is for anyone 16+ who is looking to support a confident young eater in their family or community.
In this session, you will:
· learn what a positive relationship with health and food can look like
· understand the risks associated with disordered eating
· explore trust and permission with food
· gain insight on a weight-neutral approach to health
· look at the role language can play in our relationship with food and our bodies
· get tools to support the young people in your life develop healthy relationships to food, their bodies, and themselves
This workshop takes place online. You will be sent a Teams link in the reminder email sent prior to the session – you can join from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. You’re welcome and encouraged to eat your lunch during the workshop!
