Tairāwhiti Environment Centre in partnership with MyImprint, Tahu and The Chamber of Commerce presents Green Drinks. A monthly networking event where we discuss sustainability topics.

Each event features special guests from within the sustainability space, plus the free time to mingle and meet like-minded people

This event is for:

  • Businesses undertaking or interested in undertaking sustainability initiatives

  • Sustainability professionals who want to network with others in their field

  • Ecologists, NGO's, and others working for te Taiao

  • Community members

August's event will focus on 'Energy'

In Tairāwhiti, we face some of the highest energy bills in the country.

  • For businesses, this places pressure on already tight financial constraints

  • In our community, we are seeing many households dealing with electricity poverty.

During this event, we will hear about the benefits of community solar and electrification for our region.

Come and hear from Rewiring Aotearoa. A national entity helping households and businesses shift from fossil fuels to clean electric solutions – like efficient appliances, EVs and solar power. They provide data, tools and advocacy to cut energy costs, reduce emissions and boost resilience across communities and industries.

And learn more about local community solar initiatives, including:

Tairāwhiti Distributed Energy Programme: This iwi-enabled and community and hapu-led initiative aims to install rooftop solar and battery systems across thousands of homes and businesses in the region.  It’s designed to tackle high power prices and energy hardship and resilience challenges by enabling locals to generate, store and share their own electricity.

Bring your questions

After, there will be a 15-minute workshop to identify some challenges and solutions for your business/our region around this topic.

Entry is free and includes snacks. Please RSVP on Humanitix for catering purposes

We look forward to seeing you there!
