Join us for a warm, community-focused evening where the goal is simple: share a tradition, meet people, and enjoy the game that has brought friends and families together for generations.
Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned belote pro, this event is fully inclusive.
We'll guide newcomers, celebrate skilled players, and make sure everyone feels welcome at the table.
Expect a fun and casual atmosphere with just the right touch of belote-style structure, enough to keep the game flowing, but never too serious.
It's all about community, sharing, learning and playing together.

How the evening unfolds
6:30–7 pm · Settle in, sip & shuffle
Time to get a drink, meet your fellow players and get familiar with the cards. We’ll have two spaces: one for beginners to learn the basics, and another for experienced players to revisit the rules and our house conventions.
Then we’ll play together. Bring a little patience and, if you know the game, a willingness to share what you know.
7 pm · Let the games begin
A friendly competition with short rounds and a change of opponents between games. You’ll keep the same partner throughout the evening.
Coming on your own? We’ll find you a partner.
We’ll play classic Belote, with Belote-Rebelote as the only declaration, and explain how everything works before we begin.
The overall winning pair will receive a deck of cards created by artist Tankateo. Good play may earn you the prize. Good excuses will earn you an audience.
A few last words…
To finish, you’re invited to write a short, cheeky ode to the winners in French, English or both. Acknowledge their victory; acknowledging their talent is optional.
Writing and reading aloud are entirely optional. Listening and enjoying the others’ bad faith is perfectly acceptable.

- Do I need to know how to play?
No. Beginners are welcome, with no separate ticket needed.
From 6:30 to 7 pm, we’ll introduce you to the basics while experienced players revisit the rules in a separate space.
Then we’ll play together, with patience and a spirit of sharing.
- Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. We’ll find you a partner.
If you’re coming with someone you’d like to play with, enter their name when booking. Each person needs a ticket, and you’ll keep the same partner throughout the evening.
- Do I need to speak French?
No. French and English speakers are welcome, and explanations will be available in both languages. You can tell us your preferred language when booking.
- Is it a tournament?

We’ll go over our house rules together before play begins, so everyone starts on the same page. You may still blame the cards.
- What does my ticket include?
Your $25 ticket includes your place at the table, everything needed to play and nibbles to share. Booking fees are additional.
Drinks will be available to purchase on site.
- What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at 6:30 pm to settle in and learn or revisit the rules. Games begin at 7 pm, and the evening finishes at 9:30 pm.
- What if I’m running late?
Please let us know as soon as possible via the “Contact host” button.
Games start at 7 pm, and we won’t be able to delay the start.
Someone from our team will fill in for you until you arrive, so your partner can get playing.
