Take the Lead focus groups
Event description
Event description
Join us for an online focus group for Tweed Shire Council’s Take the Lead behaviour change program.
There are three focus groups. Please only select one to attend.
What are the focus groups about?
Tweed Shire Council is developing a pilot behaviour change program called Take the Lead, to reduce the threat of off-leash dogs to wildlife, people and other pets in high conservation value areas in the Tweed.
The aim of this program is to create a measurable change in dog owner behaviour, leading to a reduction in the number of domestic dogs off-leash in public places in the Tweed.
As part of the development of the program, we are holding 3 online focus groups with local residents, to test some of the pilot program messages and resources.
The purpose of these focus groups is to ask participants for their feedback on the draft program messages and resources.
During the focus groups we will explore:
- your views on the draft program concept and resource (community signage, social media and a QR code to off-leash areas)
- your feedback about whether the messages and resources would motivate you to walk your dog on-leash in the priority areas.
Your insights and feedback will ensure that that program will be effective in encouraging the community to walk their dog/s on-leash in public places.
How will the focus group be run?
The focus groups will run for one hour. Each one will include a small group of residents and stakeholders from the Tweed Shire.
The focus groups will be run using Teams, a Microsoft video platform. You will be given a link and instructions to access the focus group once you register.
A facilitator from The Social Deck will lead the discussion and ask you and others in the group to provide your feedback on the draft program messages and concepts.
It is a chance for you to provide your feedback and input into this important community project.
You will be sent all information for the focus group two days prior to the event.
If you want to find out more about the project or how the focus groups will be run, please contact Lucy Wilson from The Social Deck on 0400340457 or lucy@thesocialdeck.com
