Event description

Sitting alongside all that students learn in traditional curriculum-based subjects, programs on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Coding, and so on all provide students with technical skills and knowledge they'll need across their lives.

But all those opportunities, extra-curricular and curricular, also provide students with Future-Fit skills - the Human Capabilities students will require for their life after school: Adaptive Mindset, Critical Thinking, Innovative Thinking, Creativity, Empathy, Initiative and Drive, Cultural Awareness, and so on.

In this seminar Dr Rick van der Zwan will describe how to leverage curricular and extra-curricular projects and programs into accredited micro-credentials that can be stacked into Certificate and Diploma level qualifications for students even before they enter Y12.

Using a case-study, the seminar will cover how project-based learning can be used to identify which Human Capabilities students are acquiring, and at what level. It will go on to show how those Capabilities can be used to provide students with accredited micro-credentials, and how those credentials can be stacked and used to acquire Certificate and Diploma level qualifications.
