Tales of the Avon loop: an archaeological walking tour
Description
The Avon loop is a curious little part of central Christchurch, tucked into a loop in the Ōtākaro Avon River and home to some wonderful people over time. This walking tour, led by archaeologist Katharine Watson, examines the lives and stories of some of these people, as revealed through the archaeological work carried out in the area. Come along to learn more about an Italian fisherman, property-owning women and ambitous waiters, amongst many others!
Please wear sensible shoes and a sun hat.
In the event of poor weather, the tour will be cancelled. An email will be sent to attendees at approximately 9am on the morning of the tour if it is cancelled.
This event is free to attend, but registrations are required.
