Event description

In this session we will explore practical strategies to support children’s language, with a particular focus on the importance of oral language development as a predictor of later literacy development. Talking, singing, questions, stories, playing with sounds in words, conversations, syllables and rhymes are all key elements of fostering language development in the early years.


Completing 'Early Start-Talk it up! Language and emergent literacy' before 31 July 2021 under NESA's interim arrangements will contribute 2 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of EYLF addressing standard descriptors 2.1.2, 3.5.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
