Event description

Developmental Educator and Sexologist Niamh Mannion

Are you a parent or caregiver who wants to talk about sex and sexuality with your Autistic child, but you just aren’t sure where to start or what to share?

Join Developmental Educator and Sexologist Niamh Mannion for our upcoming workshop designed specifically for parents navigating conversations about sex and sexuality with their Autistic children.

This gentle, practical session will aim to cover:

  • When & how to start the conversation (timing and readiness)
  • Body safety & consent (building a strong foundation)
  • Supporting healthy sexual development (honouring your child’s unique journey)
  • Helpful resources & strategies (for ongoing guidance)

This workshop acknowledges that every Autistic child's journey is unique and aims to empower you to meet your child where they’re at - ensuring they get the information, support, and reassurance they need (and so do you).

Niamh Mannion is a Developmental Educator and Sexologist, Director of My Friend in Sex Ed, a platform dedicated to accessible, inclusive, and affirming sex education. With a strong commitment to neurodiversity and inclusivity, Niamh, who is an AuDHDer (Autistic and ADHD), brings her unique perspective and love of humans to her work. She aims to empower individuals by blending developmental education with sexology to provide practical, compassionate guidance tailored to diverse needs and experiences.

Register today to secure your place.

A link to the live workshop will be available on the virtual event hub prior to the event.

If you are unable to attend at the scheduled time, please note that it will be recorded and will be available on demand. The replay will be posted on the virtual event hub shortly after the live session ends and will be available for 60 days after the event.

Please note that we no longer receive government support which allowed us to offer our events at a significantly reduced cost. We are still committed to running events at as low of a price as we can for Autistic people and their families, but have had to increase our ticket prices to help cover our costs. Therefore, we are no longer able to offer a free ticket option at checkout. If you are facing significant financial hardship or other marginalising circumstances, and this topic is of particular relevance to you please email learning@reframingautism.org.au.
