Event description

The Tamborine Mountain Edible Garden Trail is back for a second year!

The Tamborine Mountain Edible Garden Trail is an immersive experience designed to educate, inspire, and delight visitors of all ages about the benefits of growing  healthy food at home. At your own pace explore a series of vibrant, thriving gardens that are as beautiful as they are productive. Each garden showcases innovative designs and sustainable practices that are sure to inspire your own gardening journey.

7 beautiful food gardens will open their gates this year, with wonderful designs that showcase banana circles, food forests, raised garden beds, compost bays, worm farms, tree guilds, fruit orchards, chicken coops and more!

🧑‍🌾Wander through at your own pace or stay to chat with the gardeners, each one passionate and knowledgeable about their unique growing space. Some gardens will include set talk times, so be sure to check the digital brochure and plan your day accordingly.

🎪This year we have more stall holders and demonstrations to enrich your trail experience - heirloom seeds and seedlings, urban food consultants, biodynamic compost, soil microbes, local art, and permaculture talks to name a few. Make sure you leave enough time to explore them all!

🎟️Your ticket provides admission to all gardens, demonstrations and stall holders across the day. Please have easy access to your mobile phone, as you will be required to show your digital ticket at each garden. Children under 13 have free entry (until allocation is exhaustion).

☀️Dress for the weather and activity, with closed-in shoes, a hat, insect repellent and long sleeve shirt. Prepare for a fun day of learning, connecting with like-minded folks and take home a tonne of ideas to get started on or accelerate your own food growing journey!

🌿In an effort to keep our carbon footprint minimal, tickets and brochures will be in digital format only. The brochure will be emailed to ticket holders the week of the trail - this will include a map with each garden address, description of the site and parking information. Please consider environmental impacts before printing.

Important Information for ticket holders

⛑️The Tamborine Mountain Edible Garden Trail organisers and garden owners have taken all reasonable measures to ensure the gardens are safe for visitors. However, the nature of gardens means pathways, steps, borders, retaining walls, wildlife, insects etc may present safety hazards. As these gardens have been developed for food growing, not visitors, please be mindful when climbing or descending slopes, self-assess your physical capability, and take care when moving through each garden. Visitors must stay on paths at all times and must not enter private areas.

⏱️The gardens will be open from 10am to 4pm. Out of respect for the garden hosts, please only enter the gardens in accordance with their opening times.

🤟An Auslan interpreter is being provided for this event to provide language access to the Deaf Community. This will be scheduled on the digital trail guide.

🚸Children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times.

🍼Most of the gardens are not stroller-friendly.

🐶Animals are not permitted on the garden trail, as many of the garden owners have animals in their growing systems.

🚻Toilets are not available at the gardens. Please refer to the link for the nearest public toilets - www.toiletmap.gov.au

🚗Car parking will vary for each site. Specific information will be included in the digital brochure.

🍍If you want to avoid driving altogether, we have partnered with Pineapple Bus Tours to offer you a discounted hop on/hop off service for the day. Find out more - https://pineappletours.rezdy.c...

⛈️As this is an outdoor event, across multiple venues, we are beholden to the weather. The trail will go ahead in rainy weather, however, if the forecast is for extreme weather, we may need to postpone. In the event of postponement, tickets will automatically transfer to the new date, which will be within 12 months of the original date. Due to the nature of this event, refunds will not be available.

💰Profits from the Tamborine Mountain Edible Garden Trail will be redistributed to the local community, to further food growing initiatives and improve food security for all. Please keep an eye on our social media over the coming months to see how the profits are being used.
