Tamworth Focus: Chairing and Running Effective Committee & Trustee Meetings

To access this session you must be a member of Support Staffordshire delivering support/services specifically in the Tamworth locality. We reserve the right to charge you for your ticket if you are not a member, and your organisation does not directly support the Tamworth locality.

Who should attend:
This session is aimed at anyone who attends and/or runs Committee and Trustee meetings. Content will explore the challenges organisations can face, such as conflict between attendees, and how to manage/overcome them in order to have a productive meeting.
Overview:
Effective meetings are vital to ensure the smooth running and development of your group; sometimes this can be a challenge to achieve for a variety of reasons. If you want to learn more about how to have more efficient meetings, that produce valuable decisions through productive discussion, then this session will assist you in expanding your knowledge.
Learning Outcomes:
- State the importance of a minimum number of attendees
- Discuss how to achieve maximum attendance
- Describe how to prepare relevant documentation
- List the responsibilities of a secretary
- Explore potential problems and how to manage conflict
- Describe how to effectively manage agendas
- Explore barriers to decision making and how to overcome them
