8:00 am - 12:00 pm: Songwriting Masterclass with Golden Guitar Winner Matt Scullion ticket
Kickstart your festival with a rare opportunity to learn from one of Australia's most respected storytellers, Golden Guitar winner Matt Scullion. Known as the "songwriter to the stars," Matt has penned over 20 #1 hits and had songs recorded by icons like Lee Kernaghan, Sara Storer, and even Cold Chisel. He is a master of telling real Australian stories, blending heartfelt emotion with that classic, cheeky humour. In this exclusive masterclass, Matt will pull back the curtain on his craft, sharing the tools and techniques he uses to turn everyday ideas into chart-topping hits. Following the session, you'll immediately put those new skills to work in facilitated group co-writing sessions, collaborating with your peers to build new songs from the ground up. This is your chance to learn from the best, network, and create. Your host for The Songwriters Hub is Owen Smith. A published, charting songwriter himself, Owen is a key bridge in the local music community. As a Tamworth Songwriters Association committee member, a CMAA Academy graduate, and the organiser of the monthly Tamworth Open Mic, he is dedicated to fostering regional talent and building a more collaborative music scene.
