Event description

Are you ready to experience a unique and profound style of yoga?

Tantra yoga āsana is an integrated style of practice that incorporates postures (āsana), breathing (prāṇāyāma), bandha and mediation (dhyāna) into the one seamless experience - there is no separation. This is an accessible āsana practice that lays the foundation for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual transformation.

Join us for the journey

During this class you will be introduced to a deeply relaxing and regenerative āsana practice. You will discover what it feels like to practice yoga as a spiritualist, not a gymnast. The tri-doṣa balancing series focuses on cultivating prāṇā (your life force) in an effort to generate an experience of ānanda (bliss - which is your true nature).

This class is suitable for all levels, no experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome.

Important information about each class:

  • You will need a yoga mat AND a yoga strap (or equivalent, like a scarf) for this class. The strap is VERY important - please make sure you bring one to use - you WILL need it :)
  • Class format:
    • 2 to 2.30pm introductory talk and demo for beginners.
    • 2.30 to 4pm āsana practice.
    • Each class will start with a 30-minute introductory talk and demonstration about the practice. If this is your first time attending, please arrive at the beginning of the class and attend the first half hour.
    • If you've practised the tri-doṣa series with me before, we won't start the āsana practice until 2.30pm - please be on your mat and ready to go / logged in for a 2.30pm start.

NOTE: Your first class is no charge as a gift from me. Please contact me via my website or via 'contact event organiser' to request access details for your FREE first class.

What will you experience?

Here's what to expect:

  • An accessible āsana practice that is suitable for all shapes, sizes and levels of experience.
  • A deeply relaxing series of postures that are aligned with the Tattvas, not some gymnastic idea of physical perfection.
  • An integrated practice that incorporates postures (āsana), breathing (prāṇāyāma), bandhas and meditation (dhyāna) into the one experience.
  • An opportunity to release deep-rooted anxiety, provide profound rest to the body and expand your capacity for peace.
  • A practice that provides an internal foundation for letting go of that which no longer serves you.
  • A process that can help lead a more balanced, more blissful, more open, more conscious and less fearful existence.
  • A transformation of your perception to experience the subtle beauty in all of life.

Are you ready to deepen your yoga practice?

This class is perfect for you if:

  • The gymnastic styles of yoga don't suit you and you're looking for a more subtle āsana practice that's more like yin.
  • You feel intimidated by most yoga classes and you're looking for an inclusive experience that is suitable for everyone.
  • You're looking for something to help you manage stress, anxiety, depression or overwhelm.
  • You've reached a plateau with other types of āsana and you're searching for a sustainable, transformative experience that goes beyond the physical.
  • The one-hour yoga class at your local studio always feels rushed to you and you want the opportunity to relax, let go and really surrender to your practice.
  • You're ready to take your yoga practice to a deeper level.
  • You want to experience a higher octave of what's possible through yoga āsana.
  • You're curious about Tantra, but you're not sure where to start. Or, you thought Tantra was all about sex (it isn't).

I'm new to Zoom, what do I do?

You will receive an email prior to the class with detailed instructions on how to set up and login, tips and instructions on how to navigate the Zoom portal. It's quite simple, just give yourself a little time (at least 15 mins) before class to familiarise yourself with how it all works.

About Yogalanda

Yolanda French is a student and practitioner of Tantra, Yoga and Sanskrit and she has spent her entire adult life chasing the tail of consciousness. She’s studied in yoga studios and ashrams, sitting by dhunis and on pilgrimages, as well as in tertiary academic institutions. In her experience, the most transformative tools for personal evolution are Tantra, Yoga and Sanskrit (yes, Sanskrit). She also happens to love mung beans and makes a mean vegan tea cake.

What others have to say about their experience with Yolanda

'I benefited greatly from Yolanda’s Tantra Yoga ‘remarkable' classes. Although the poses were quite simple, they had a surprisingly profound and healing effect. I have been to countless Yoga classes, but was struck by how open my body felt after Yolanda’s class and what a profound sense of wellbeing and relaxation it left me with. One often hears of how the Yoga that is taught in America is a recently evolved creation, and it was truly a pleasure and very informative to be guided through an āsana series that was authentic to the original traditions. Most importantly, through the classes and her knowledge of prāṇāyāma, I have come to a profoundly different understanding of breathing, which has been good for my overall wellbeing, and more concretely, very beneficial to my day to day health. I have been chronically plagued by colds and respiratory problems, but these issues have been greatly alleviated since my classes with Yolanda.' Quarry

'I found Yolanda's Tantra Yoga classes very suitable for an older person who had not previously practised Yoga. Her clear instruction and guidance made attaining the impossible possible. I found a Yogic breathing exercise that Yolanda taught me, practised in the early morning, energised me for the whole day. A very pleasant and beneficial experience.' Judy
