About this event
Latihan is an intuitive practice that helps you connect more authentically with yourself and others, without masks.
It’s about being fully present in your body and fully embracing each moment.
Originating from Indonesia's Subud tradition, it’s a practice of surrender—letting go of the ego and simply being. In this modern twist on an ancient tradition, we introduce blindfolded movement to help quiet the senses, allowing you to focus more deeply on the connection with yourself and others.
In Tantric Latihan, your body becomes your guide.
Through spontaneous movement, you engage with your emotions, instincts, and natural flow. It’s about releasing stuck energy, breaking old patterns, and finding freedom in the present.
The more you let go and trust your body to lead you... the more joy, trust, and connection can naturally unfold.
This strengthens resilience, builds deeper connections, and encourages you to embrace vulnerability.
Specifically, Latihan invites practitioners to:
Slow down and embrace the power of stillness
Deepen your connection through touch and attunement
Release attachment to identity, both your own and others’
Fully inhabit your body, embracing freedom and expression
Use discomfort and triggers as opportunities for growth
Align with your authentic self
***PLEASE NOTE: These events do fill up fast and often sell out. Make sure to get your ticket in advance as we sadly had to turn away several people at the door last time due to capacity.***
What Happens at a Latihan
By simply placing a blindfold over your eyes and entering the practice space with others, you’ll open up to a new level of awareness.
Before you dive into things, there is an opening circle where we'll cover everything you need to have a safe and fun experience:
Explanation of how the practice works
Consent guidelines to make sure everyone’s comfortable
How to ask for support if you need it during the practice
Navigating with sovereignty throughout the space
A demonstration to guide you through the process
What to Bring
Bring your own blindfold if you have one; we will also have some on hand for you.
Wear comfy clothing that you can move in, like what you might wear to a yoga class.
Plan to arrive before the doors close (usually 30 minutes after the published start time)
Come ready for stillness, movement, dance, laughter and tears, connection with source and with others, and more!
What People Say
"Loved the space and the container; it all felt very welcoming and comfortable"
“I enjoyed being able to explore touch and connection in a safe environment.”
“Having a chance to connect with kindred spirits, see old friends, and meet new ones got me out of my head and into my body on a very chilly winter day!”
“The connection alone was worth attending for."
What Are the Benefits of this Practice
Latihan enhances your ability to relate to others by increasing self-awareness and revealing your patterns, conditioning, and unconscious habits.
By removing sight, your other senses heighten, allowing you to observe your emotions, reactions, and coping mechanisms in real time.
This practice helps you discover where you hold yourself back from fully embracing your desires, and where you may struggle with boundaries or conscious awareness.
Latihan is ideal for those with experience in meditation, tantra, or other practices that foster self-exploration and ultimately help us to leave the ego behind and move into the real self.

Frequently asked questions
How do you get consent with a blindfold on?
During practice, move slowly to check in with yourself and ensure consent moment by moment. Beforehand, you'll receive a detailed explanation, live demo, and Q&A. You can observe or step out anytime. Communicate through touch during practice and seek facilitator support if needed.
How do you keep a “safe space”?
The practice is led by experienced Latihan practitioners, with 1-2 spaceholders (or more for larger groups) overseeing it. While we strive for a safer space, moving blindfolded can be triggering to some, so please take care of yourself. Observers are welcome, but personal safety comes first.
Is this an erotic practice?
No. It can be sensual, sensuous, and erotic energy may arise, but we request that participants not intentionally generate erotic connection among one another. There should be no touch beneath clothing, or kissing in this practice.
What happens if I need help while I am in the space?
You can ask for help anytime without disrupting others and are encouraged to prioritize your well-being. The demo will cover the process before we begin. You may find that slowing down helps and know you can ask for and receive support when needed.
What is the policy around confidentiality?
We ask that you only share your own experiences from Latihan, avoiding mention of others or identifying details. If you recognize someone, like a regular partner, embrace the mystery. View the connection as transpersonal, keeping the encounter anonymous and unspoken.
What if I have a really intense connection with someone? Can I get their contact info?
Confidentiality and anonymity are essential to Latihan’s power. By dropping agendas—especially those tied to romance—you can release concerns about “who” you connected with and instead focus on what the connection evoked within you. This allows for a deeper, agenda-free exploration.
Do I have to bring a blindfold?
Nope! We will have them on hand for you. If you want to bring your own you are welcome to.
What should I wear?
Stay clothed in at least shorts and a tank top/sports bra. Wear something comfortable for movement, and consider knee pads if you'll be on the floor. Latihan may involve touch, so dress appropriately, covering private areas. Minimal jewelry is recommended to avoid distractions. Since this is an Open Practice, feel free to reveal as much skin as you like, except for genitals.
How long does it last?
The evening will last for two and a half hours, and the practice itself will last approximately one hour.
Can I take breaks?
Yes, you can pause your practice at any time if you need a break or to go use the restroom, the facilitators will explain how to leave the space mindfully so as not to disturb the group.
Do I have to participate after the introduction or don't feel its for me?
You are always at full choice and if after the introduction you decide to sit out and simply observe that is totally okay. Follow your bliss.
