Event description

Beeswax Food Wraps Workshop

Join our hands-on Beeswax Food Wraps Workshop, where you'll create six eco-friendly wraps using organic Australian wax, jojoba, and coconut oils. Learn two waxing methods, explore global textile waste issues, and take home reusable wraps made from recycled cotton and linen. Includes all materials, a tutorial, and expert guidance. Pat and Jeans Place is a community-driven creative space dedicated to sustainability and eco-conscious living. The workshop encourages sustainable habits while fostering creativity, connection, and environmental awareness. With a focus on natural fibres and ethical practices, Pat and Jeans Place empowers individuals to make small yet impactful changes for a healthier planet.

About the Artist- With over 30 years in the fashion industry, the founder of Pat and Jeans Place, Sarah Girn transitioned from mainstream design to sustainable textiles, driven by a passion for ethical practices. Inspired by her journey into organic cotton production in 2005, she deepened her commitment to reducing plastic waste and promoting eco-friendly alternatives. Honouring her mother and aunt, the initiative reflects her mission to create a cleaner, less toxic world. Through her workshops, she shares knowledge, builds community, and inspires others to embrace mindful living—one recycled fabric at a time.

Please note that if cost is a barrier to participate, please get in touch at ippy.collins@wyndham.vic.gov.au.
