Tarik: an evening of spoken-word poetry
Event description
Tarik, hosted by Rachel Worcou and Sarah Iman, is a spoken-word night dedicated to representing the voices of critical writers, storytellers and poets. Our launch event will feature the talented Manisha Anjali, Nathalie Farah, Thabani Tshuma, Joshua Lynch, Tariro Mavondo, Chi Tran and Jack Mitchell.
Join us in honouring their stories and voices as they interpret and respond to the theme of 'Space' – on what it means to hold it, shape it and examine its function within the fabric of their lives.
Tarik will be held on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung and Woiwurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to this land and sacred space, recognising its enduring connection to elders past, present and emerging.
Funds from this event will reimburse the artists and be redistributed to pay the rent. We kindly thank you for your support and look forward to your presence on Thursday 28th November.
Sincerely,
Rachel and Sarah.
