Event description

Dispatch Review is honoured to present a special panel discussion with members of the renowned arts workers collective, Taring Padi.

Taring Padi is an art collective based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia that uses art as a tool for political expression and education for all. Currently visiting Perth/Boorloo to work on a collaborative banner with local artists Sharyn Egan, Yabini Kickett, Ilona McGuire and Tyrown Waigana at the entrance to AGWA, the five members of Taring Padi will share insights into the group and their work.

As a progressive cultural organisation grounded in the tradition of Indonesian political activism and grassroots initiatives, Taring Padi upholds the principles of education, agitation and collectively organising to drive democratic and popular change in Indonesia.

Speakers: Aris Prabawa, Ari Aminuddin, Tajam Pariwangi Muhammad, Dudi Irwandi, Mohamad Yusuf, Rachel Ciesla, more TBA.

Venue: Great Southern Room, The State Library of WA.

All are welcome, and attendance is free. RSVP is essential, as places are limited.
