A Scottish Ceilidh is all about energy, laughter, and bringing people together — and this one will have you smiling from the very first step.
("Ceilidh" pronounced "Kay-lay" is the name for traditional Scottish Country dancing - think Aussie bush dance with a Scottish twist)
Never danced a reel in your life? Perfect.
You don’t need any experience to jump in. Every dance will be fully called, which means you’ll be guided through the steps as you go. If you can walk, laugh, and follow along, you’re already ready.
All you need to bring is:
a good attitude, and;
a bucket of enthusiasm.
We’ll take care of the rest.
All ages welcome.

Whether you come with friends or fly solo, you’ll be swept into the fun in no time. It’s social, it’s lively, and it’s the kind of night you’ll be talking about long after the music stops.
We're excited to announce that the local Springfield based Cotter Academy of Highland Dancing will be joining our upcoming Ceilidh, treating us to a showcase of their talented Highland dancers. And to make the evening more authentically Scottish, a bagpiper will also be joining us.

FAQs
- What do I need to bring?
Come as you are.
You do not need any special shoes or clothes for traditional Scottish Country Dancing.
It is recommended that high heels are not worn.
Kilts are encouraged!
The bar will be open for purchases.
- Are children allowed?
Children are allowed at the venue. Children 5 years and under are required to register for the FREE ticket for capacity reasons.
Please note, whilst young children are most welcome, some of the dances can be quite busy and get chaotic (but fun!), we ask that you use your judgement and parental instincts as to whether a certain dance being performed is too joyful for their age and should perhaps have a break for that one.
- Is this just for Scottish people?
Definitely not! This is social dancing that brings communities together! People are welcome to join from all walks of life and we hope that you do so we can share our enjoyment of dance with you.
- Is there free parking?
YES! There is ample free parking available outside the hotel.
