WORKSHOP - Pattern Making ticket
Sat, 10 Oct, 3pm - Sun, 11 Oct, 7:30pm AEDTThis workshop is designed to teach some basic patternmaking skills that will enable sewists to adjust or transform their existing patterns. Imagine being able to alter the sizing and fit of your pattern or change the design of your pattern to be able to create a brand-new style. This micro workshop does NOT teach you how to make a pattern, but it shows you how to change your existing pattern. Participants should be familiar with store bought patterns such as Butterick, McCalls, Simplicity, etc… Some basic patternmaking skills that will be covered are: Adding/reducing volume/flare Where and how to add/remove length Moving a dart Adding or removing a join/seamline Increasing/decreasing the pattern size Using the above skills to create a new design Participants can bring one of their own patterns to class if they wish…however patterns per each exercise will be provided. All tools/equipment will be provided, and participants are advised to bring a notepad and pen.
