Tasmanian Social Enterprises 101 [July 2025]
Event description
Join the Social Enterprise Collective of Tasmania (SECTAS) for an inspiring and practical introduction to social enterprise—where business meets purpose. This event is your opportunity to explore how social enterprises work, why they matter, and how they are shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future for Tasmania.
We’ll unpack what makes a social enterprise different from a traditional business or charity, and show how this model can deliver both financial sustainability and real social or environmental impact. Whether you're a community leader, entrepreneur, student, or simply curious, this session will help you understand the potential of social enterprise in your local context.
Delivered by our convenor of the Social Enterprise Collective of Tasmania, Adam Mostogl, will share powerful insights into how purpose-led businesses are transforming communities around the world—and what it means for Tasmania. Adam is one of Australia’s leading voices in entrepreneurship and social innovation, and his experience in empowering thousands of changemakers across the country makes him the perfect person to lead this conversation.
This session is also a chance to learn more about SECTAS, Tasmania’s emerging collective for people and organisations working in or alongside the social enterprise space. You’ll find out how you can connect with others, share ideas, and be part of a growing movement to create a better Tasmania through enterprise.
Whether you’re just starting out, already running a purpose-driven organisation, or looking for new ways to make a difference—this event is for you.
