Event description

Experience a taste of Modzaka, an afternoon of West African music immersion giving the community and beyond the opportunity to experience and participate in African Culture!

There will be Drumming workshop with Master drummer Bouba and move your body and learn new moves in an African dance workshop with Kwame and Lou Wang followed by performances with Calabash West African Ensemble comprising of the incredible West African performers: Kofi Kunkpe, Boubacar Gaye, Aboubacar Djelike Kouyate & Amadou Suso. With local drum students getting everyone moving, showcasing a variety of West African rhythms and songs with The Yarra Valley Drummers and Badger Creek Drummers led by Kofi Kunkpe.

Taste of Modzaka offers a unique opportunity for the community to experience and participate in West African culture.

5-6pm: African feast! (Dinner break)
