Tatreez at the Powerhouse Museum with Gina
Event description
🌿 Tatreez & DIY Bookmark Workshop — Stitching What Can’t Be Erased
📍 Powerhouse Museum, Sydney
It’s been two years since we’ve been witnessing the daily horrors in Gaza.
Now, more than ever, it feels vital to hold onto what cannot be destroyed — our culture, stories, and art.
Join us for a hands-on Tatreez & DIY Bookmark Workshop, where Palestinian tradition meets creative expression. In this session, you’ll learn the ancient art of Tatreez (Palestinian embroidery) and stitch your very own bookmark — a symbol of resilience, memory, and love.
No experience? No problem.
This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone who values art, culture, and handmade craft. You’ll learn authentic Palestinian stitches, discover the stories behind them, and leave with a meaningful piece made entirely by you.
