Tatreez - Palestinian embroidery workshop
Description
Palestinian embroidery workshop with the founder of Women in Hebron - a cooperative for embroidery and craft by Palestinian women in the West Bank.
Come along to Old Palestiene House for a cosy evening of learning Tatreez directly from a Palestinian artisan whilst she is visiting the UK. Tatreez holds a rich history with many of the motifs having specific meanings, for example specific plants, and contains regional variation in design across Palestine.
All sewing skill levels welcome! All materials will be included so all you have to do is bring yourself... Alongside learning this heritage craft you can enjoy teas and home baked Palestinian treats.
There will also be the opportunity to buy Tatreez by Women in Hebron. All takings from the evening will go to support Women in Hebron.

FAQs
- Do I need to bring anything with me?
Nope, all materials will be provided as well as homebaked goods and teas as part of you ticket price.
- How accessible is Old Palestiene House?
There is wheelchair access into the building via a ramp, there is unfortunately no disabled toilet though we are actively working to remedy this.
There is one step at the entrance, and there is a flight of stairs to access the bathroom which is a single cubicle. There is a quiet space downstairs people may use for a break or you are welcome to step out at any time if you need to.
There will be chairs with backs to sit at and tables to work.
There will be music playing from a speaker. We do not currently have a hearing loop in place, though if this would helpful let us know and we can organise one for the night. Also you are very welcome to let a volunteer know if it would be helpful for us to turn the music down, or if you anything explained again.
Let us know if you have any other queries and we will do our best to answer any questions and make any adjustments happen.
