Event description

Announcing a new Special Collection in development at Community Research - Queerness in Aotearoa!

Community Research is developing the Queerness in Aotearoa collection – a kete of research, resources, and community-led kōrero by and for queer communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.

This living collection aims to make queer-led research more visible, accessible, and connected, providing kaitiakitanga for queer research and celebrating the diversity within queer communities, including perspectives of tangata whenua, MVPFAFF+, and more. Welcoming all forms of knowledge-making, the collection aims to uphold Te Tiriti, amplify queer voices, and strengthen ties between folks in diverse queer spaces.

We want this collection to be led by the voices in these communities, so on July 8th, 12-1, we're hosting a Tautoko session to bring together folks in the community. This session will be the springboard point for the collection, giving a space for the community to guide what the collection should look like – such as areas of focus for upcoming webinars, podcasts and other activities which the community indicates is top of mind. If you're a queer researcher, someone leading or contributing to LGBTTQIA+ kōrero, or an ally wanting to support this mahi, we invite you to attend and help shape this work.

Click here to find out more, and you're welcome to pass that link on to others. If you can't make it to this session, please feel free to get in touch with us for a kōrero. You can make a time with Moana here, or email research@communityresearch.org.nz.

If possible, please consider a donation

Community Research is a not-for-profit organisation and we would love your support to help us continue to champion research by and for communities. If you are able, please consider adding a donation when you register for this webinar. Ngā mihi maioha.
