Topic: Polarisation in the Modern World
Since political polarisation is at an all-time high, it can be easy to be drawn into political point scoring and a tribal mentality. Even the church is not exempt from division along ideological divides. What does unity in a divided world really look like? Can lessons from the past offer us a path forward? How do lessons from history and recent insights help us navigate today's challenges? Join Dr Shaun Blanchard for a thought-provoking Tav Talk as we explore the polarisation of our modern world. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in a timely conversation that will inspire new perspectives!
Speaker: Dr Shaun Blanchard
Dr Shaun Blanchard is a Lecturer in Theology on the Fremantle campus of the University of Notre Dame. A North Carolina native and graduate of UNC, Oxford (Blackfriars Hall), and Marquette, Dr Shaun writes on a variety of topics in early modern and modern Catholicism. In his free time, Dr Shaun likes to watch college (university) football and basketball, travel (especially to visit churches and archives in Italy and friends in England), and eat at the incredible cafes and restaurants in Fremantle and Perth.
