Topic: The Gift of Limits: Freedom, FOMO, and Finding your Purpose

The desire for freedom is a universal human experience. Why is it then, that in a world where we are confronted with so much choice, we often feel paralysed and unable to make a decision? Drawing on the wisdom of the 2000+ year tradition of the Catholic intellectual tradition, this talk will examine the experience of FOMO and propose a few simple remedies that have the capacity to open us up to experience the fullness of reality and find real purpose and meaning in our lives.

    Speaker: Dr Tom Gourlay

Tom Gourlay PhD is a theologian and educator. He is a Senior Lecturer in Theology and Religious Education at the Catholic Institute of WA. He and his wife Elizabeth live in Perth’s southern suburbs with their four young children.
