Tawa Drive - 'satellite’ EP Launch
Event description
Following the release of satellite, the sophomore EP from Tawa Drive, comes a headline performance from the dream pop / indie rock outfit.
A project headed by Kiwi multi-instrumentalist Evan Scrimgeour, Tawa Drive combines nostalgic acoustic warmth with hazy dream-pop ambience. With a brand-new lineup formed featuring Samara Nilsen (vocals, bass), Damian Broodryk (guitar), and Will FitzGerald (drums), the band seeks to create whole worlds within songs, with atmospheric depth building into soaring crescendos. Tawa Drive’s new EP satellite, released on October 25th, builds upon this dense atmosphere – using the imagery of spacecraft orbiting one another to tell a unique and uplifting story of mental health, fractured relationships, and healing. This story will lead a starry night of music at new Brisbane venue Mirrorball Ministries.
Indie rockers King Crow will open the night with artful storytelling and electrifying guitar work, before Tawa Drive takes the stage for their first headline show in their new form, with a captivating new selection of songs from their EP.
Come support and celebrate this magical new release alongside Tawa Drive & King Crow, at Mirrorball Ministries TLC from 7pm on Wednesday, November 12th.
