TCCI Risky Business and Mentoring Program 2.0

Designed for small businesses to develop bespoke WHS systems to make your workplace safer and compliant. This program is recommended for business owners or managers.

Each workshop will cover a specific priority regarding employee management and workplace health and safety. You will be provided with templates and advice on how to use these within your business.

All participants will receive ongoing mentoring between sessions to implement actions from the previous session.

Workshop 1: Building the basics

All businesses regardless of size are required to ensure a safe workplace. 

This workshop will help you to understand what a WHS management system is and how to implement one (or review your current system).

Workshop 2: Informative Inductions

26 April 2023, 10:00am-12:00pm

New workers are the most likely to be injured on the job. 

Having a good induction can reduce the risk of them being injured and ensure they understand how to stay safe at work.

Workshop 3: Responsive Reporting

31 May 2023, 10:00am-12:00pm

WHS reporting is a critical component of monitoring and addressing workplace risks. 

Employees need to know when and how to report risks and as employers or managers we need to know what to do with this information when we receive it.

Workshop 4: Risk and Hazards

28 June 2023, 10:00am-12:00pm

Understanding the difference between risks and hazards is an important part of managing WHS in the workplace. 

Managers and employees need to know how to identify, control and monitor these in the workplace.

Workshop 5: Creative Consultation

26 July 2023, 10:00am-12:00pm

Consulting with employees is the foundation of a safe workplace.

There are some simple ways in which you can consult with your team members, whether you have one or 15. 

It's not as hard as you think!

Workshop 6: Cultivating Culture

30 August 2023, 10:00am-12:00pm

It is one thing to have a WHS system and paperwork, whether it is used the way it is intended is a different thing. 

Ensuring employees are following the required procedures and policies as part of their daily routines is critical.
