Te Ao Mārama Art Exhibition

Ishmael Tahi Heamana's exhibition explores the complex relationships between wealth and poverty, illustrating how one person can have the power to both transform and devastate the world.

Titled "Te Ao Marama," the exhibition narrates a story of endings that pave the way for new beginnings. Heamana crafts his artwork by hand, utilising oil on canvas along with turpentine and linseed oil. In his creative process, he often layers canvas upon canvas to enhance the depth of his pieces.
