Te Kohuroa Rewilding - Community Celebration Day
Event description
Te Kohuroa Rewilding's Community Celebration Day
Sharing the positive impacts of our first year of rewilding!
Join Te Kohuroa Rewilding and a panel of guest speakers to learn about the outcomes of the first season of rewilding and to add your voice to the future of marine restoration at Te Kohuroa Matheson Bay.
Since September 2024 an incredible line up of community volunteers, organisations and conservation experts have come together to deliver over 20 events focused on improving the health and wellbeing of the freshwater catchment and marine ecosystem at Te Kohuroa Matheson Bay.
There have been so many highlights including freshwater surveying and spotlighting, a marine biodiversity workshop, guided marine snorkels and fish counts and of course our community restoration days where everyone worked collectively to harvest kina for kelp restoration. We are so grateful to everyone who showed up to make these events a success and we're excited to share the outcomes of this wonderful mahi.
We also want to hear first hand about the communities experiences of the pilot program, and what you'd like us to include in next season's schedule. So join us for our final event of the season to celebrate our collective success and vote for the future rewilding actions you'd like us to work towards.
