Te Wiki Āhua o Aotearoa - Mark of the Maker
Event description
Te Wiki Āhua o Aotearoa FW25
The system is broken. The promises that were made to us are no longer being kept. We were promised that studying hard and working harder would secure a future worth having. But no matter how many jobs we obtain or how qualified we are, we’re all barely staying afloat.
Creatives refuse to work for conglomerates that care more about turning profits than cultivating the arts. This leaves us the margins and footnotes of every conversation - and we left a lot unsaid in our past show week.
This March’s Te Wiki Āhua o Aotearoa FW25 continues to focus on promoting and platforming emerging and early career artists from all areas of Aotearoa’s creative scene.

Mark of The Maker
‘Mark Of The Maker’ is a collaboration between Rhoda Nunn and Nature of Mercury that explores the delicate balance between structure and fluidity. This collection embodies understated femininity through strong, relaxed lines and silhouettes, allowing for natural movement while balancing precision with softness. As the show unfolds, the atmosphere transforms, drawing the audience into a space where the process of creation is revealed.
With visuals of garment-making, the collection offers a deeper connection between the maker and their craft, reflecting the quiet power of design and craftsmanship. It’s a celebration of the artistry behind fashion and the transformative impact of thoughtful, intentional creation.
