    Event description

    What is Tea Ceremony?
Tea Ceremony, an expression of Cha Dao, or "the Way of Tea," is influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine and Zen Buddhism. This hour-long meditative experience offers a gentle space for quiet reflection and connection, culminating in shared insights and communal presence.

    Benefits of Tea Ceremony
In its purest form, Tea is nature’s medicine for awakening. Sourced from the Camellia Sinensis variety and organically grown, sustainably sold, and served with mindful intention, it imparts healing properties that nourish both body and spirit.

    Benefits can include:

    • Cultivating presence
    • Awakening deep insight
    • Basking in quietude
    • Embodying intention and ritual
    • Exploring subtle worlds within
    • Evoking creativity
    • Connecting to the interdependent threads of life

How to Participate in Tea Ceremony

During Tea Ceremony, you will be served Tea from the Camellia Sinensis plant and invited to drink as much or as little as feels right. We sit together in silence, allowing the gentle rhythm of the ceremony to evoke a sense of surrender, insight, and remembrance of your true self. The experience concludes with a bowl of crystal hot, local spring water, leading into a space of shared reflection.

The intimate space, accommodates up to 11 participants. Optimal comfort, subtle movement and cushions are welcomed. This ceremony is open to anyone over age 14 who is comfortable with silent, meditative presence.

    Traditions of Tea Ceremony
Tea Ceremony is rooted in the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zen Buddhism, and Daoism. This practice has been treasured by sages as a medicine for body, mind, and spirit, supporting prolonged focus and sadhana (spiritual practice).

This Tea Ceremony pays homage to The Tea Hut Tradition, guided by Wu De, who has expanded the art of Cha Daoworldwide. His teachings continue to deepen the practice for those drawn to the path of cha jin (tea person).
